I go to bed every night at a reasonable time. Though I always wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes even before midnight. Why do I wake up? Sometimes, it's because I have a horrible nightmare. Other times I have to go to the bathroom. Mostly it's the nightmares that wake me up. I have PTSD and I have the symptoms of RISP which is Recurring Isolated Sleep Paralysis. It is horrible to have that. I'll go into detail of my experiences with RISP and having to cope with PTSD. I'll try to even give my opnion of why I believe I have been suffering from those disorders. On my mobile blog, I'm going to try and keep my posts shorter than my blog that I work on at my laptop. This "Blog on the go, my mobile blog" will be written from my phone. As I'm in bed right now and am on my phone blogging this situation. That I am suffering from insomnia. If anyone reading this and if you suffer from nightmares, PTSD, RISP, or just insomnia and you've found ways to cope with it, with any of it, please comment how you cope with it. At this point I'll try anything that helps me stay asleep or helps me get back to sleep after I've woken up. If I wake up because I just needed to go to the bathroom, I usually can go back to sleep. Though if I've had an RISP episode or just a regular nightmare, then I make myself stay awake for awhile. If in the past I've had one of those episodes and I fall asleep shortly afterwards, then the chances of me having a repeat episode is extremely high. Tonight I didn't, thankfully, have an episode in which I had a nightmare or some other terrifying event. I think I might be getting an upper respiratry infection. My husband is suffering from that and I've been exposed to his sickness. I get sick easily. Also my allergies are bad lately and that messes with my asthma. So I woke up because I'm congested and I needed to take steps so I could breathe better out of my nose. I need to breathe out of my nose specifically because I have to sleep using a
c-pap machine. It helps me to breathe at night. So, I got up and did a double breathing treatment using my albueterol inhaler machine to pump me up with medicine. Then I could breathe better. However, that medicine makes me more awake. Though that is the price to pay to breathe properly. So, I'm awake. I have to shower, dress, eat breakfast soon (in less than 5 hours away), because I have a routine Dr's appointment today. She'll be going over my MRI results with me and refilling my medication. It's to my pain specialist. I have a messed up lower back. So, I'm going to use my coping skills and I'm going to meditate until it puts me to sleep. Also counting backwards from 10,000 also helps. Wish me luck that I'll have enough energy to go to my appointment today. I had to miss an appointment yesterday because I believe I had food poisoning. I feel mostly better now. Just in pain, as usual. Do to my lower back and other issues. So goodnight.
